Bauchi State Council of the National Women Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress has distributed food items to the State lowcost orphanage Home in Bauchi metropolis.
Speaking at the handing over of the food items, the state Chairperson of the NLC National Women Committee, Comrade Hauwa Abubakar, revealed that the visit became imperative in order to assist the needy for them to have a sense of belonging within the society.
Comrade Hauwa said the idea was also to complement government effort towards building community for the growth and development of the state.
The association has also donated cash to patients at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi of the Emergency Paediatrics Unit, Paediatrics Medical ward, Gynae ward among others worth thousands of naira in commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day Celebration.
In their vote of thanks, the state lowcost Head of orphanage Home, Hajiya Balkisu Idris Guda, the in charge of Emergency Paediatrics Unit, Hajara Ahmed Ibrahim and Clepo Simon of Gynae ward, expressed their gratitude for the gesture and thanked the Nigeria Labour Congress National Women Committee for the humanitarian assistance and support.
